Feature Set:  

Ulead DVD Player allows you to create play lists and edit movie chapter sequences. Once you have selected and are viewing the play list, you need only to click the "next" button to begin the next movie. Ulead DVD Player is compatible with DVD Workshop, Ulead DVD Picture Show, and Ulead DVD MovieFactory. It also offers book-marking capabilities and allows you to transfer individual scenes to your hard drive if you want.

Ease of Use:  

This DVD player software package has simple, no-hassle navigation. Its control panel has the familiar appearance of a VCR control panel-intuitive. The control panel can be minimized during the viewing of a movie; this option is not available on all DVD player programs, making Ulead DVD unique. Various media formats are not supported by Ulead DVD Player. We experienced difficulty playing both VOB and AVI files.

Video Quality:  

Ulead DVD Player produces a high-quality video picture. Although the program lacks the ability to adjust the video image, the software will work with your video card to bring you a better picture through video acceleration-this means that the software and your hardware work together to optimize your CPU usage, allowing you more freedom to multi-task (such as respond to email while watching your movie).

With Dolby 5.1 Digital decoding and de-interlacing, Ulead DVD Player is able to produce a high quality picture even though this software doesn't have the powerful filtering capabilities that its competitors include.

Audio Quality:  

The audio capability of Ulead DVD player doesn't match up to that of top-of-the-line software products, but the program does offer Dolby 5.1 Digital 2-Channel output which enables the player to achieve surround-sound through 2-channel speakers. LPCM audio support is also available.

Help/Support:  

The documentation with Ulead DVD Player is limited compared to the higher-ranked DVD player software programs. This software's help section offers a few references to help you understand and navigate the system, and a support system (including an online forum) is available on the website.

Ulead DVD Player is a good software package. The program has a simple navigation and installation system and offers most of the common player features.
